The Association for Information Science and Technology held their 77th Annual Meeting in Seattle, Washington from October 31 to November 5, 2014. The conference theme was “Connecting Collections, Cultures, and Communities.”
This year’s Special Interest Group (SIG) Publication of the Year Award was given to the book Social informatics: Past, Present and Future co-edited by ILS Chairperson - Dr. Pnina Fichman and SoIC Associate Dean for Graduate Studies - Dr. Howard Rosenbaum. The book was published in 2014 by Cambridge Scholars Publishing.
Drs. Fichman and Rosenbaum were the co-organizers of the 10th Annual Social Informatics Research Symposium, participated in a panel about social informatics and social media and the annual Doctoral Symposium.
At Indiana University, both are also active in the Rob Kling Center of Social Informatics where Dr. Fichman is the co-Director, and Dr. Rosenbaum is a faculty fellow and advisory board member.
