Ellen Ruth Meyer, MLS'65, retired this spring from Valparaiso University as assistant professor emeritus. Her husband, Frederick Meyer, also retired from his position as professor emeritus of biology.

Robert J. Grover, MLS'70, PhD'76, is dean of the School of Library and Information Management at Emporia State University in Emporia, Kan.
Virginia Zeigler Potter, MLS'70, is living in a retirement center in Asheville, N.C.
Sheryl (Beron) Yoder, BA'71, MLS'72, was recently re-elected to a fourth term on the Greater Clark County Board of Trustees in Jeffersonville. Her husband, Doug Yoder, BA'71, has taken a new position in accounting with Kentucky Farm Bureau Insurance in Louisville. They have a daughter, Shelley, who is a junior at IUB and a son, Kent, who is a senior at Purdue University.

Karen M. Corey, MLS'73, was recognized for 35 years of service at Purdue University Calumet in Hammond, Ind., in summer 1999. She is an associate professor of library science.
Michele Reiling McCaffrey, BA'72, MLS'74, has been working as a reference and instruction librarian at St. Michael's College since 1992. She teaches Italian part time in adult education settings and spent the month of May in Italy.
Deborah H. Bulloff, BA'74, MLS'75, is a substitute children's librarian at Indianapolis Marion County Public Library.
Maureen Mostyn Liebenson, BAJ'75, MLS'76, is managing editor at World Book Publishing in Chicago. She lives in Highland Park, Ill.
Alison Baker Rilling, MLS'77, chaired the Campaign to Re-Build Our Libraries, which funded 14 new or expanded libraries in Jackson County, Oregon.
Robert E. Skinner, MLS'77, is in his 15th year as director at Xavier University library in Louisiana. His fourth novel, Blood To Drink, was published in July. His 1997 novel, Skin Deep, Blood Red, was recently published in Paris in Editions Gallimard's Serie Noire. He lives in New Orleans.
Nancy E. (Winkelmeier) Dowell, MLS'78, is the director of Vigo County Public Library in Terre Haute, Ind. Previously she served as administrative coordinator and tech services coordinator.
Pamela Gibbs Ferber, MLS'78, is branch manager of the Hebron Public Library in the Porter County Public Library System. She lives in Hebron, Ind.
Douglas K. Lehman, MLS'78, has been appointed head of instruction and information services for the Bailey/Howe Library at the University of Vermont, Burlington.
Carole A. Medal, MLS'79, is division chief of the visual and performing arts division of the Chicago Public Library. Previously, she was with the Rolling Meadows Public Library since 1980, first as its director of adult services and circulation, and for the past 15 years as its executive director.
Nancy (Niemann) Palmquist, MLS'79, is the library media specialist at South Oldham High School in Crestwood, Ky.

Mary Ellen Armentrout, MLS'82, was named librarian at the Cleveland Botanical Garden in Ohio.
Larry L. Hardesty, MS'78, PhD'82, was the 1999-2000 president of ACRL. He also was the editor of Books, Bytes, and Bridges. He helped establish the Excellence in Academics Award this year for the ACRL. He continues to direct the College Library Directors Mentor Program, which is now in its eighth year with 113 participants. He has been the library director of Austin College since 1995. He and his wife, Carol, live in Sherman, Texas. Christine (DeSain) Peterson, BS'83, MLS'87, is a library liaison officer for Amigos Library Services in Dallas. Previously, she was the manager for continuing education and automation consultant for the Texas State Library and Archives Commission in Austin. She lives with her husband, Gary, and two sons in Round Rock, Texas.
Alice A. Campbell, MLS'86, is an administrative assistant at the Manchester Church of the Brethren in North Manchester, Ind. The church's new facility is up and running again after a fire two years ago.
Francesca L. Hary, MLS'88, is the library director of the Milton-Union Public Library in West Milton, Ohio. She is also the secretary of the ALA Ethnic and Multicultural Information Exchange Round Table.
Anne E. McKee, MLS'88, has been elected as a member-at-large to the North American Serials Interest Group's executive board.
Linda (Koldenhoven) Stetson, MLS '88, was married to Jim Stetson on March 25, 2000 in Atlanta. She is the regional librarian at the Georgia Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped and lives in Woodstock, Ga.
Theresa M. Tyner, BA'88, MLS'89, is part of the Indiana Youth Institute as senior librarian in charge of the Virginia Beall Ball Library. Previously she was senior librarian for a special library collection at Great Lakes Chemical Corp. in West Lafayette, Ind.
1990s
Thomas E. Pinelli, PhD'90, is an associate fellow and senior member of the Society for Technical Communication. "Associate fellow" is an elective and honory rank, which is given to exceptional members who have been responsible for important or notable work in technical communication or have made a significant contribution to the society. Pinelli is the distance learning officer in the office of education at the NASA Langley Research Center in Hampton, Va. He is also the executive producer of three distance learning programs: NASA Connect, the NASA "Why?" Files, and NASA's Kids Science News Network. Prior to that he was the co-principal director of the NASA/U.S. Department of Defense aerospace knowledge diffusion research project.
Cynthia L. Shamel, MLS'90, owns Shamel Information Services, an independent source for business intelligence and market research. She was recently appointed to the board of directors of the Association of Independent Information Professionals and is director of the San Diego Chapter of the Special Libraries Association.
Kathleen (Eborg) Willhite, MLS'90, writes to say that she became the school librarian at Kalamazoo Academy, Kalamazoo, Mich., in August 1999. She works as a "Sunday substitute" during the school year at Portage District Library in Portage, Mich.

Priscilla L. Stultz, MLS'95, has been the Chicago regional information manager for the Librarian Relations Group of Lexis-Nexis since December 1998. She acts as a liaison between Lexis-Nexis and librarians in law firms, law schools, the federal courts, and professional services firms in a five-state region.
Pamela A. Halliburton, MLS'96, is an intranet content steward at the St. Vincent Stress Center in Indianapolis.
Carl P. Covert Jr. , MLS'97, is a technical services librarian at Paris Junior College at Paris, Texas.
Paula E. Gray-Overtoom, MLS'97, is the automation librarian at the Monroe County Public Library in Bloomington, Ind. She writes to say, "I work as the Web administrator for the Monroe County Public Library. My son, Morgan, is 5 now, and, in July 1999, I had a baby girl, named Sydney. I am enjoying working part time and being a mom."
Leslie R. Homzie, MLS'97, was promoted from assistant librarian to senior assistant librarian at the University of Delaware Library in July.
