Aimee Zahora's paper "Managing information: conquering the great enigma" was published in the November 26, 2003 issue of SCIP.online. The Society of Competitive Intelligence Professionals (SCIP) is a global nonprofit membership organization for everyone involved in creating and managing business knowledge. Zahora wrote the paper as part of the requirements for L543: Strategic Intelligence, taught by Dr. Carol Choksy. Zahora is currently a SLIS student and is pursuing her master's degree in Information Science. She received her BS in English Education from Ball State University.
Zahora works as a Global Competitive Intelligence Specialist at the Indianapolis-based Dow AgroSciences, a global leader in providing pest management and biotechnology products that improve the quality and quantity of the earth's food supply and contribute to the safety, health and quality of life of the world's growing population.
Zahora travels internationally for pleasure to Europe and Latin America and enjoys tasting international cuisine, interacting with the local people, and learning about other cultures. She recently concluded a first trip to Africa, where she was able to explore the cities of Casablanca and Marrakech, Morocco.
MLS student Thom Pease recently published an article entitled "Finding the Music Heard on Public Radio," in the Music Library Association Newsletter. The article discusses strategies to help reference librarians "decipher the code of public radio" before they call their public radio station regarding something heard on an NPR station.
